Announcing Starbucks K-Cups

In a recent article we talked about the possibility of Starbucks K-Cups becoming a reality, well I have some good news. Starbucks has officially announced that a strategic relationship with Green Mountain Coffee Roasters (GMCR) has been formed, to offer Starbucks K-Cups and Tazo K-Cups. For some consumers, the wait has literally seemed like an eternity, but it is finally over and the expectation for the new Starbucks K Cups is very exciting.

For months and even years, the question whether or not Starbucks would join the single serve coffee K-Cup world has finally come to fruition. The recent announcing that “The Big Green,” a.k.a Starbucks, is joining with The Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, Inc. is an extremely strategic move for this “GREEN” relationship. Manufacturing, marketing, distributing and selling the Starbucks and Tazo Tea brand K Cup portion packs to be used in The Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Keurig Single Cup brewing system is a big step for both companies.

Starbucks K-Cups Will Be Made Exclusively By GMCR

What will this new joint relationship provide for those who use the K Cup Coffee Maker? For those who currently own a Keurig Brewer, or those who are purchasing one in the near future, consumers will have the additional choice of a Starbucks branded premium roasted coffee available for their brewers. This also means that this will further Starbucks stated goals concerning the expansion of its presence in premium cup at a time coffee servings, as well as offering its premium coffees available to K Cup consumers whenever the customers chooses.

Green Mountain Coffee Roasters and Starbucks plan to make these new portion cups available at several different market places. They can be purchased at retail department stores in the United States and Canada, large club type stores, specialty stores, food stores and drug stores during the last quarter of 2011. This exclusive and licensed coffee brand will be produced by The Green Mountain Coffee Roasters to be exclusively used in conjunction with the Keurig Brewing System.
